A chance encounter in Australia in 2006 with the eponymous English Gentleman for whom the brand takes its name, Swedish founder Filip Tysander decided to use this meeting as the inspiration for his brand. Struck by the Brit’s understated, impeccable style, and fondness for wearing his vintage watches on old, weathered nato straps, Tysander determined he would design his own line watches.
